Immediately after receiving permanent makeup in Southlake, your skin may appear slightly red or swollen, and you may notice mild oozing or scabs. This is a natural reaction that occurs after any kind of tattooing, and typically resolves within a few hours.
Your results will appear more intense during the first few days, but don’t let this scare you. The pigment fades to a more natural shade as your skin heals, and this is the color that lasts.
During the first week after your session, keep the area clean and dry, avoiding makeup, lotion, and sunscreen. If fluid appears, use a clean tissue to gently blot the area dry. Depending on your skin type, needs, and unique treatment plan, your provider may recommend applying an ointment—but otherwise, avoid all topical products.
Do not rub, scratch, or pick at scabs, as this can cause pigment loss. To minimize friction, sleep on your back with the area elevated. You should also avoid sweating, swimming, saunas, and hot tubs during the first week to avoid contaminating your skin as it heals.
Peeling and flaking may continue for another week, and the color may appear patchy as your skin sheds. After 2 weeks, you can resume your regular makeup and skincare routine, unless your provider says otherwise. Continue using SPF 30 or above to protect your skin and preserve the pigment through the final healing stages. Depending on your body’s unique response and your vision, we may recommend a touch-up treatment after 4 to 6 weeks.
